Evacuation drills

Each year, emergency evacuation drills take place at the Jagiellonian University in order to ensure that its academic community is prepared in case of danger as well as to work out certain pattern behaviours in such circumstances.

The procedures applied take into account the presence of persons with disabilities in JU buildings and prescribe appropriate behaviours of both persons with disabilities and university staff in charge of organising their safe exit from buildings. The Jagiellonian University implements innovative solutions in that regard and systematically provides training for designated officers in evacuating persons with disabilities. During the emergency drills, their skills are put to the test, often in the presence of persons simulating disability, following a pre-set drill scenario.

We encourage persons with disabilities to get in touch with us and talk about the procedures in place, prescribed appropriate behaviours, as well as their expectations or difficulties envisaged.

The training sessions and meetings are led by Małgorzata Perdeus-Białek
